SUMMA TIME

Well here it is... summer break. I can't believe how long it's been since I've posted anything. I'm now a high school graduate. Weird. Graduation is such a surreal time... everything is weird. Everyone is so busy right up to graduation, your running towards the end. Filling out scholarship applications, getting last minute homework assignments in, finals, graduation parties and so on. Those last few weeks go by pretty quickly in my eyes and then BAM it's time to do it. Your actually done and before you know it your in that graduation robe trying so hard not to cry. It really is emotional, seeing your parents with tears running down their faces, hearing all the speeches about moving on, just being completely done and not knowing what will come next. I can't really compare it to anything, it's awkward and hot, formal and sad and... surreal. Everyone seems bonded in a way they never could have been in high school. We are all nervous about our next step... excited too. Everyone is connected finally by one thing, the fact that we are all done. I was hugging people I had barely even said a word to all year long. We didn't care anymore. It's really strange because you just leave, school is still in session for everyone else, but your done. You are going to college but there is a big gap in between your graduation and the time that you leave. Everything builds up to one ceremony that is an explosion of everything and then it just pauses. Mellow. Summer time. Its really nice to have a little bit of chill time... it really is but it's still bizarre, what other time in your life does everything just pause? It will be interesting to see how much is going to change in just a few months, how much we're going to give up, how much we are going to gain. It's exciting and sad, new and unreal. But until then, we have endless days of sunshine, parties and concerts, time with the people we love most, time to do nothing. Oh summa time, the weather is sweet.
