JIGSAW
Upon visiting the bookjournals website for the first time in a while. I found many wonderful ones (which always happens) and decided to get a few of them (which always happens). I should say that I am still deciding on which ones exactly though... I've included the possibilities.
This is a still from a bad "trailer" of Crazy/Beautiful from youtube. One of the great parts of that movie is Kirstin Dunst's character's interest in cameras. She is seen here with a Lomo LC-A. She also has a Polaroid land camera and is always in the darkroom and making awesome journals. And now that I am thinking about it, her character in Elizabethtown makes that awesome journal/roadtrip guide thing too...
Okay so. That is my little sailboat. I bought a 3D puzzle kit in a lighthouse on the Cape and ta da! Sailboat. I'm fond of it.
The other day I borrowed Kristy's space headphones in the Library.
This is me writing my paper for Contemporary World History. Yes, I cited Babar.
And I really want these boots but they are always out of stock! Even when they told me they were back in stock... for the best though considering they are pricey. I am in the market for a new pair of smaller heeled to flat boots. A new pair of riding boots would be great as well.

LEAVES THAT LOOK LIKE FIRE
A billion hours of internet mind sucking later... I have decided to type up a post and finish some actual work. First, Livi came over the other night after our class was canceled. Our professor walked in and drew this on the board:And then told us he was sick and was going home to sleep so class was canceled. He is pretty wonderful. Livi and I decided to have whiskey shots with a gum chaser.
Livi: "How do we make this look more artsy... can we put it in black and white?"
Classy.
Pretend you just sneezed.
Senior photo.
"Hanna you look like you are on some kind of drug they would give to women housewives to keep them peppy."
Then Livi and I made snogging scales. One through ten with how "far" you go sexually. So if two is make out you can say "we made it to two." This concept is from the book Angus, Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging with we both read... and this is actually what started me and Livi talking on the plane to Europe (and the castle), she was seated next to me (we are both Kelly's) and the movie was one of the options on the personal screens. She had seen it and had read the books... I had read the books and decided to watch it, discussion ensues. Anyway. It was a blast. What up Wasty Wednesday.
The other day at work we hosted a bunch of lighting companies so they could give demonstrations of their new lights. The Arri guy showed up and here is what happened:
"Am I the first one here?" -The Arri Guy
"No, Mole Richardson just went up." -Hanna
"Oh crap, that Mole Richardson... who is repping? Is it Tommy,* I bet its Tommy. Always trying to beat me."
"Umm..."
"Well did Mole give you anything?"
"No."
"Well I did!"
And hands me the hat below.
*Names have been changed because I can't remember them.
My scanner is not working. Which is annoying considering I have things to scan. Such as photos. But I will take some photobooth shots of my prints... just keep in mind that it is probably best to see them in person. (I also have contact sheets, but those really should be scanned to see anything properly.)
I recently purchased a scissors necklace. Along with other things I will share later.
And finally. I went to Maine this weekend with my dad, aunt, uncle and cousin/his girlfriend (Sean, Laurie, Mike, Ian/Katie). It was so wonderful. We were staying in someone's summer cabin that they rent out when they are not around. It was a little, old, cozy place on a lake tucked at the back of a cute little town. The first night we went down the road for Beth's (Laurie's friend) 60th birthday in a barn. They were projecting photos of her on the side of the barn, cooking delicious food and had a bluegrass band playing. The barn was decorated with lights and garland and everyone was dancing. It was lovely and cinematic. The next day we drove to some waterfalls and hiked around in the fall colors before going to Jimmy's (somehow related to Beth and family) for a pizza party. His house felt lived in and open and had a great front room with huge windows that let sun in. There were cats, books, and comfortable furniture strewn about and a dog to great us. There was a garden, outdoor kitchen and swing set in back and it was tucked in a nice quiet patch of forest. They had a old school brick pizza oven and whipped together dough and all the toppings from scratch (a lot of the veggies were from the garden) and people got to put toppings on and create their own pizza. It was delicious. Probably some of the best pizza I've ever had. Everyone ate by the fireplace and talked while drinking beer. The entire weekend had a great ambiance. All the people and their homes and just the area in general were fantastic. I will post photos if and when I get them (my dad had a digital camera and I took a few rolls of film.) We finished off the time having food in town and running into a thrift store. Then my dad, Sam (who goes to Suffolk) and I drove back to Boston. Dad and I hit up Chinatown and he continued on to Connecticut. It was a great long weekend.
I would recommend Shipyard Pumpkinhead Beer. It is so yum. (I think.)

ENCHANTED HAPPENINGS
Dad comes today. It will be the first time anyone has visited me since I've been living in Boston! I am going to the airport around seven to meet him. We are going to Maine this weekend with my aunt to go to a party and then he is going to Connecticut for a few days to hang out with his fam and then coming back to finish off the trip in Massachusetts. I'm looking forward to it... in the meantime I have been trying to get all of my work done and out of the way, but keep getting distracted. I am writing a paper about the set design of Giles' apartment for my Buffy class and have to read Heart of Darkness for History. I think I will go pick up a package from my mom (with my winter coat in it), pick up my darkroom prints and get something to eat before I continue though. The other day I stumbled across Enchanted Royals again... Haley Thompson's shoe "company." Haley used to babysit me when I was little, and now I seem to be following in her footsteps involuntarily. She started Student Filmfest and then I ran it, she went to Emerson and so did I and if I go to LA we both will have done the castle program, the Prague film program and the LA program. Crazy things. Anyway, I really like the Aspen tree bag and just the entire concept around their shoes. They have a cute three part video that shows them all off (under music video on the main webpage... also be sure to check out the store with all the products.) Here is an article about them, and here is their blog. Look at this post in particular, love it. So there is that.

A FEW LETTERS, A FEW WORDS
First, this is a good song. We listened to it in the darkroom today.
We also listened to Joanna Newsom.
Today was a good day. Darkroom all morning. I printed two fantastic old Holga shots that I am very fond of. (I recently developed a lot of B & W film that I had laying around, five rolls of 35mm (one new one in that bunch) and four 120 rolls.) I also printed a strange one of my dad from Christmas time, one from the rally this weekend and another more gritty looking one from my Holga. The two I love both feature Keighley and others. I will share them once they are done drying. After the darkroom Kevin and I went to My Thai and got delicious Thai tea bobas and noodle dishes. I came home to find an email from the mailroom... my record player arrived! I also dropped off half frames that I got developed in Prague but couldn't print because the woman had no concept of half frames and did not speak English, they will be on fbook soon. I also got a postcard from Janine, a day full of good things.

So I just found out about regretsy.com... click this. And make sure to listen to the tracks by Varga.
THE AIR BREATHED BY TREES
It finally seems to be fall in Boston. Today is nice and cool and crisp, I want to wander around just to breathe it all in. I was in DC this weekend filming documentary footage of a rally for my friend Kristy. It was held around the reflection pool at the Lincoln memorial. There were a ton of people there. It was interesting to experience that in DC and I enjoyed it. We took a bus from Boston late Friday night, attended the rally and drove back in the evening, getting back into Boston early this morning. It was a long haul with a lot of awkward sleeping. Before I left to get on the bus Friday I went to ballet with Rita. I enjoyed it even though I haven't done ballet since I was little. I remember being able to slip my foot, with a ballet slipper on it, into my snowboots. My legs are sore now though, I think I need to stretch more often. We are going back to the same place for belly dance on Wednesday and I am excited and interested in trying a new class. Tonight I am going with Emily to her friends comedy show at a bar down the block from where I live. I might dash to the darkroom quickly to develop some film before. I am curious to see if some of the shots I snapped in DC came out. In the meantime I am listening to guitar drifting in through my vent, my neighbor is practicing. As always I will leave you with some things from the web.
London 1920: (there are some fab clips of people near the middle/end.)
The volcano that nearly trapped me in Europe
Love is Louder (Emerson had been named the number one LGBT friendly college in America by the Princeton Review)
There are many places I would like to go, this one is in Oregon (along with dear M who I would also like to visit)
And we have a new contributor to our fashion blog, my friend Erin... so do check it out.
